I know when my Mom sees this picture she will want to kill me! But I love it! I am so grateful for the parents that God gave me and I wanted to take a minute to honor my Mom. She is one of the most amazing women I know. She is always doing things for people behind the scenes and never expects credit. On the weekends she drives an hour to my Grandpas and always cleans his whole house, does his laundry, and helps with whatever little other things he needs done. She also frequently takes time off of work to take him to all of his doctors appointments, not all of which are close, and sometimes is gone for weeks at a time. She also makes desert every week for my great aunt and then takes it to her on Sundays and just shoots the breeze for a while. She spends countless hours making afghans for people for graduation, baby's, or just because. She has an amazing gift for decorating houses and is always the first person that many people go to for help, and needless to say is there with her helpful ideas and often giving away her own things as well. That is just a start to my Moms love for people. I know that my Mom gets tired and I'm sure that sometimes the things she does are just plain draining, but she is the ultimate example of having a servants heart. If you asked my Mom why she does the things she does. She would probably say that's her job, and she does them because she knows how much it means to other people. What an encouragement she is to me. It doesn't matter if she WANTS to do the things she does, she simply does them to honor God and love people. I am so proud to be your daughter Mom! I sure love you!

What a week it's been! Already Thursday but it feels like it has been two weeks crammed in one. Sunday I woke up and missed my Momma like crazy so after cleaning the house and hanging out with Travis a little bit I decided and Travis agreed that I could go home for a visit. I of course didn't tell her I was coming because I didn't even know until that moment myself. I got Jayden and I packed up and jumped in the car and headed home praying the whole way I wouldn't get pulled over for speeding. ( I should never drive alone I get to darn excited and the speed limit never seems fast enough. haha) When I got there Mom wasn't home and Dad was working in the garden, so I first had to call Mom and then go surprise Dad. I can't even tell you how fun it is to totally surprise someone! Jayden was great the whole time. She was so goofy, full of funny faces and giggles just for Grandma and Grandpa. I also got to spend some time with my brother and pop in to see my sister. Sometimes I think I just need the opportunity to go home and be a kid myself! I also got to visit some family I hadn't seen in a long time, and a good friend. I learned a lot as well... to be content with where I'm at in life and not to focus on things I have no control over. Instead make the most of everyday and never take relationships for granted. Relationships may change, but that doesn't mean they have to end. I am so blessed to come from the family I did. I tend to some days take that for granted. I unfortunately didn't take any pictures to share with you but this time it was just fun to hang out and love on my family!

I know that Jayden is not really my child but Gods, and because of this I am so grateful that he would allow us the opportunity to raise her. It has already been quite the journey and I know it will just keep getting funner as the days go by. I know that getting her dedicated was more then just a ritual, it was a commitment that we were making to God. A commitment to pray daily for God's direction in our lives and hers. To teach her the truths of God's Word in our home, and to lead her by a positive and Christlike example. Our prayer is that she would come to know Christ at a young age and desire to follow him with a heart of thanksgiving and praise.

Sometimes I can get so caught up in life that I forget what truly matters. It is so easy to become jealous of people and there possessions, jobs, houses, lives. To lose sight of all I have been given and instead focus on what I don't have. The funny thing is all the don't haves are usually don't needs as well. When I truly realize all that God has given me I am filled with an over all contentment the only problem is it seems to be temporary.
I think we all have the desire for things and for recognition, we want to know that the things we do are appreciated and noticed. When I try to think of things I have done without having any sort of motive or desire for attention I seem to come up empty. No matter what the task may be helping someone carry groceries, giving someone money, or even just giving of my time for something I may not enjoy, I always want to be noticed and praised for the things I do.
After much thought I truly believe that is how we are created. At one time or another we all were under Satan's rule whether unintentional or not. However when we came to Christ we were made new and clean. Though are hearts are now pure we still have our sinful nature surrounding it. Romans 3:10-18 says "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." but Romans 7:15 says " I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do , but what I hate I do." I won't write the whole passage but if you get time it is great to read. The purpose in this is that our delight is in honoring God, however Satan hates this and is making every effort to frustrate us, tell us we need and deserve things we don't. What we do deserve is to be thrown into hell, but through Gods grace we have been given a new life. When I stop to remember this I know that all the possessions and attention I get are worthless. The only person I truly need loves me no matter what I have or what I do. It is good for me to frequently reflect on this and check my heart and motives. I hope that in me sharing this it will also be helpful for you.
